I’m still undercover Somewhere out west Preventing disaster You know the rest And I’m getting nervous Williams in command, Has set an explosive I’ve got to get it disarmed They know There’s a leak, there’s a spy, there’s a mole, there’s a guy Someone wants to defuse the bomb But the thing will explode if I don’t have the code They’re wondering, where has Williams gone? I know the chair won’t hold you well The spotlight is too bright The muzzle of the shotgun Is digging in your side And although you’re protesting I cannot let you go I’m sorry Mr Williams but I need the codes It’s tricky to navigate and pointless to estimate, the whole thing’s like a painting by Escher. The atmosphere’s wonderful for staying uncomfortable, I’m hoping that he’ll crack under pressure I know the chair won’t hold you well The spotlight is too bright The muzzle of the shotgun Is digging in your side And although you’re protesting I cannot let you go I’m sorry Mr Williams but I need the codes We know that the mole’s still at large Fixin' industrial espionage

I wouldn’t blame you if you’re angry - Your saw the car explode with me inside. And now I turn up out of nowhere, No idea of why or where I tried to hide. And now I’m saying that I need you, And you know it's not a lie. You know my options are restricted And I'm guessing you don’t want to die Either..... I’m not back Not back from the dead I’ve been Biding my time with a plan in my head You wouldn’t tell me if you loved me It’s something you could never do Why would I go and fake my own death Why wouldn't I just wait for you? I’m not back! Not back from the dead, I’ve been biding my time with a plan in my head. Deep down, You guessed I was alive, well You know me honey, I always survive. Cause the shrapnel hit us both my darling, You already know you’re dying. Once we might have saved ourselves but now there is no chance. There’s metal in your veins, oh honey, No one else to blame - So tell me Shall we have this, have this one last dance? I’m not back Not back from the dead I’ve been biding my time with a plan in my head. Deep down, You guessed I was alive, well You know me honey, I always survive Don’t look so surprised!

I want to make, want to make, want to make it work I can’t relate, can’t relate, can’t relate to her. She finds out what I want to hear and then she tells me so I wait with baited breath for her to let me go Liar, liar, pants on fire Liar, liar, pants on fire Don’t you spin this thing the other way I haven’t thought, haven’t thought this through I’m always jumping headfirst into what I try to do This plane is plummeting toward the cold hard ground. I wait with baited breath for you to let me down I haven’t got a clue Still holding onto you I want to make, want to make, want to make it work I can’t relate, can’t relate, can’t relate to her It’s getting more confusing every single day I wait with baited breath to throw it all away

Tell me, tell me, have you seen, Seen my last idea? It passed me by, I don’t know why. It’s long gone now I fear. I’m waiting in my car outside, just come and say hello. We’ll talk a little while and then I will have to go. So would it be so wrong if I just tried to get it right? The sentence I’d forgotten, oh it left my head tonight Maybe when I wake up and the morning bird sings bright, I’ll remember what it was I had to say. Tell me tell me have you heard, Heard my brand new song? I wrote it just this morning, and I hope it’s not too long. I know you’re probably busy, but I wrote it just for you. Sit down and have a listen, you can tell me what to do. So would it be so wrong if I just tried to get it right? The sentence I’d forgotten, oh it left my head tonight Maybe when I wake up and the morning bird sings bright, I’ll remember what it was I had to say. You don’t have to worry if you can't come to the show. You’ve got work super early, and we’re playing late I know. Maybe you’ll eventually make it out it time. Until then I’ll keep playing on, the prerogative is mine.

I won’t write a song this week I’m not in the mood You need the right setting The right attitude And today I don’t feel it I can’t think of the chords I sat down to write something But I just got bored I won’t write a melody I won’t do the drums I know I’ll resent it It just won’t be fun I won’t write a chorus or verse I won’t stay up late to rehearse Im just gonna play video games And sit on my bum I won’t write a song this week, I’m not into it I can’t get the words to rhyme I won’t make them fit It’s lacking that something That je ne sais quoi I just nearly had it So close, but so far I won’t write a melody I won’t pick a form I won’t go on Sibelius And score out the horns I won’t write an intro or bridge I’m wondering what’s in the fridge I’m just going to eat slices of ham And twiddle my thumbs Not writing a song…. Not getting it wrong... I’ve no obligations, I don’t have the patience I put my head down and keep humming along I won’t write a melody I won’t do the drums I know I’ll resent it It just won’t be fun I won’t spend a week pulling words Adding compression and reverb Im just gonna play video games And sit on my bum
