Where's The Body?/Sorry, Mister Williams!

by Fin's Contingency Plan

Exterior shot of a pontoon at night, The camera angle hangs in the air. With blood on the deck and no killer in sight, The spider made a nest in her hair. And the truth came on out in the red of the dawn, As the night rumbled onward to day - We looked for the body but the body was gone. The body had been taken away. The black and yellow tape said “police line, don’t cross!” The chalk had made a white silhouette. The cameras flashed bright as we realised we’d lost The dialogue that ran in my head. And the truth came on out while the cameras were on, Like a curlew all speckled and grey - We looked for the body but the body was gone. The body had been taken away. We’ve got it on tape, we’ve got it on tape When the atmosphere escapes Cause this case is watertight And my alibi’s alright The truth of the crime was right there all along The message we couldn’t relay We looked for the body but the body was gone The body had been taken away

I’m still undercover Somewhere out west Preventing disaster You know the rest And I’m getting nervous Williams in command Has set an explosive I’ve got to get it disarmed They know There’s a leak, there’s a spy, there’s a mole, there’s a guy Someone wants to defuse the bomb But the thing will explode if I don’t have the code Tell me, where has Williams gone? I know the chair's uncomfortable The spotlight is too bright The muzzle of the shotgun Is digging in your side And although you’re protesting I cannot let you go I’m sorry Mr Williams but I need the codes I crunched the numbers I did the maths I plotted all the possibilities on a graph I knew it crucial Devising a ploy Reduce my chances Of being destroyed It’s tricky to navigate and pointless to estimate, the whole thing’s like a painting by Escher. The atmosphere’s wonderful for staying uncomfortable, I’m hoping that he’ll crack under pressure I know the chair's uncomfortable The spotlight is too bright The muzzle of the shotgun Is digging in your side And although you’re protesting I cannot let you go I’m sorry Mr Williams but I need the codes They know that the mole’s still at large - Fixin' industrial espionage... I open the casing I undo the screws Cause if this thing goes up It’ll get you too You knew the sequence So here’s the pliers I’m gonna leave you to it, Cut the wire You know that There’s seconds ticking down and my body hits the ground You’re vaporised sitting in your chair I’ve jumped out the winder and the building’s cinders The fire missed my by a hair... I know the chair's uncomfortable The spotlight is too bright The muzzle of the shotgun Is digging in your side And although you’re protesting I cannot let you go I’m sorry Mr Williams but I need the codes
